Summary: Carol White is a bored, affluent housewife who develops a mystery illness which is affected by every aspect of the world around her. Eventually, in searching for what is 'safe' she seeks the solace of a 'clinic' in the Texas desert where the inhabitants drag their own oxygen cylinders around with them. The film provides an insight into the largely-ignored illness known as Multiple Chemical Sensitivity which usually affects women in their 20s and 30s.
